Tatum Ranch Golf Club
About
The course at Tatum Ranch Golf Club is a true desert course due to its placement adjacent to the beautiful Sonoran Desert. The course has a target-style design that features subtly rolling fairways and greens that are large and undulating. Water hazards come into play, some in the form of ponds. There are also several sand bunkers strategically placed throughout but especially around the greens. The course is a challenge, but it offers a fun, fair game for golfers of all skill levels. Its location near residential areas causes the occasional appearance of homes on the course. Tatum Ranch Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 11th hole, which requires great control. Although the hole is not long, it is difficult with a narrow, guarded green.

At $31 a terrific buy
Excellent condition. One or two holes along high traffic road with lots of road noise. Very nice practice area.
Unremarkable Course
Compared to other courses in its immediate vicinity, Tatum Ranch is simply ... below average. Rancho Mañana is far more scenic - and challenging. The Faldo Course at Desert Ridge is beautifully laid-out, and very challenging/demanding... Tatum Ranch is 'driving range' style golf.
Great course if you get a chance to play it
I grabbed this one off "Hot Deals." It was a beautiful day in Scottsdale and when I arrived at the course my first impression was that it was going to be a great day.
One of the staff members met me at the bag drop. He was very friendly and, being my first time there, gave me all the pertinent information I would need for an awesome round of golf. He did say this was the first day the course was open after over seeding and the course was a bit "hairy" meaning the fairways and greens still needed to be cut a few times before it was in its member shape.
The course is beautiful and challenging. It was a little "hairy" in the fairways and greens but it did not take away from the fun I had or for my game it did not affect my score much. Though I was short on my putts all day long but I have no one to blame but myself.
Also the two guys I played with, who also booked through GolfNow, were great. All in all it was a great day!!
Great Course
This course was in great shape considering they were preparing for reseeding. The greens were excellent and putted true.
This is a very nice course and the staff couldn't be more friendly. I will definitely play the next time I am in the area if it is open to the public.
Not exactly a welcoming course....
The course was being readied for overseeding, so this evaluation probably isn't a fair one. Large piles of dead grass made it impossible to find balls even in the fairways; perhaps this prep work needed to take place AFTER the course was closed for overseeding, not while still selling tee times. As a non-member player at this private club, our rate was fairly low, but the negatives didn't leave a good impression no matter the cost. We were almost chased around the course by the marshall, and we were not playing slowly, and we were keeping up with the group ahead.
Challenging Course
The course had just been cut low for over seeding but was still playable. The holes differ greatly in layout which make the course challenging and not continuously the same. I would like to play it more often.
Course undergoing rejuvenation
The fairways were cut really short and were dry to the extreme. No longer green, just browned out grass. The greens were quite fast and multi-level...so, difficult to hole. They were in process of renovating the turf, so can't really fault them for condition.
There is no real sand in the traps, just small rocks, so no way you can actually hit an iron from them without damage to the club. Don't even try. Lots of desert plants, which also are tricky to golf around.
Would be better if course wasn't scalped.
Great course, was being prepared for overseeding and conditions weren't perfect.
Generally good experience, teed off at 1:30 and never saw the cart girl. It was mid-90's temperatures!9
Generally good experience, teed off at 1:30 and never saw the drink cart...and it was in the 90's...great price and a fun day!
course preparing for overseed.
It would not be fair to review this course as they were preparing for overseed of fairways and greens.
nice course
very challenging and need to play few times to fully enjoy
This is a Country Club???
Originally, I was quite excited to play this course, but it was a major let down. Course was in municipal condition, no cart girl, 1/2 way house had no representation for 10 min I waited before my round, then at the turn (4 pm), it was closed. Country Club? Far from it. Thank God it was only 30 bucks. First time, last time for me.
Great value for the money.
This course is stone-cold perfect. Difficult yet fair. Tremendous
condition for this time of year. Great/friendly staff. Went out of
their way to ask us how we liked the day afterwards.
Fun course
Very playable with long par 4 and 5 holes. Well maintained and located in a beautiful area. Go Play!
Love this course
Had never played it before and I loved it. Excellent condition. Playing off a carpet of grass in Phoenix area is a special treat these hot summer days. Will play it again tomorrow and up until Snowbird rates make it prohibitive until Spring rolls around again.
Greens were fast but smooth, fairways lush but cut. Sand traps had sand in them, which again is hard to find in Phoenix.
Can't give it enough praise.

Average
Course was empty so it was nice to have a leisurely round. For a private course it did not impress. Average at best
Excellent layout of the course
This private course was well maintained. Great locker rooms and clubhouse.
Short par fours are challenging. practice facilities are excellent.
The summer twilight special prices for this kind of course is unbelievable. I enjoyed the course so much I played two days in a row. I will try to play this course as often as I can during summer time.
great shape
Course was in great shape ( especially for the summer ). fairways in great shape, greens consistent and beautiful. GOOD JOB TATUM RANCH STAFF.
average, dont pay more than about $25
no wow factor at all. power lines cutting across in several spots. worth $20-25
