The Talking Stick Golf Club, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, offers two uniquely different courses that each offer many options according to your playing skill. The Piipaash course (previously known as South at Talking Stick Golf Club), with its tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offers a more straightforward style of play than the O'odham Course (formerly known as North at Talking Stick Golf Club).

A round of golf on the Piipaash Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club kicks off on a par-4 hole that measures 405 yards from the Black tees. Three long par-5 holes ensures that power golfers will get their kicks, with the fifth hole coming in at 516 yards, the 1fourth measuring 541 and the 16th playing to 548. The round of golf concludes on a relatively shorter par 4 that measures 323 yards.

After a round of golf on the North Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club, head back to the Wildhorse Grille for drinks and a bite to eat.

Nice Track!

Really enjoyed the round…good value considering the prime time of year. Pace picked up as the round went; finished right at 4:20, the expected time. But…the Marshall must not understand golf…drove up while I was hitting a shot and continued talking on the walkie talkie and then accelerated on in the middle of my swing (I could care less, but a lot of guys would have been offended)…later in the round he pulled up while a partner was teeing off and proceeded to sit there with the “reverse” buzzer going off in his cart; we had to stop and ask him to shift into forward. He later said we needed to pick up the pace when we were waiting on the tee for the next group to finish on the green at a par 3! Comical!
The place is under construction, hence the 1-star for amenities. The guys in the pro shop were not friendly nor informative about the construction or the courses. All this said…I will go back as I really enjoyed the course and thought it was nicely manicured.

Under construction

Beware the Clubhouse is under construction.
We love to get something to eat at courses before the round, here is a food truck next to the outhouses.
Not worth the $ to many other options

Course Is Worth Playing

Clubhouse is under construction, washrooms and food service are not great because of that. Driving range is over used, not a lot of grass to hit off. People practice chipping onto the practice green, potentially dangerous…the course is good and I will play it again!

Construction on new clubhouse was annoying, if I would have known in advance I wouldn’t have booked it.

Under Construction

This was a good, but not great course. Quite flat but pretty open. It was in really good shape. Tee boxes were in better shape than Southern Dunes that we played the day before. The clubhouse and other areas were under construction, so that distracted a bit from the asthetics of the place. No GPS in the cart and my handheld GPS didn't pick up the course for some reason.

Apples to Oranges compared to Scottsdale Resort Courses. Not worth what they charge.

No bang for the buck here. The atmosphere here is like a Muni. Courses very forgiving which is a positive. Nice layout. Majority of the holes have the same feel. Greens full of ball marks…. For the rates they charge, no bottled water provided. No GPS in carts. I’d go back at a $85 rates. Anything north of that, forget about it.

Disappointed

Had heard so much about these courses. Piipash was in fine shape and the staff was exceptional. The disappointment comes from the amenities… mostly the lack of.. the rehab project will only enhance the overall experience there, but right now, it’s a mess.

Good, but not great for the money

Overall, we were glad we played here. The course conditions were good, but not great, especially for the price (and yes, I get it’s peak season). Lots of patches in the fairways, and far too many people don’t fix they marks on the greens. The greens were a consistent speed, and the false fronts added an extra layer of difficulty. I was quite impressed with the bunkers, and how well the sand played (I had several green side bunker plays). Overall, good course, but again not in as good of shape as I would expect for the price markup. Especially since the clubhouse construction makes food and pre/post-game impossible onsite.
