Located in the west valley, the golf course at Coyote Lakes Golf Club combines a desert landscape and traditional design with scenic views of the White Tank and Bradshaw Mountains. Although it is modest in length and suitable for all players, the course is still an enjoyable challenge for even advanced golfers. The front nine is more difficult than the back nine with large greens and several contours. The back nine is also challenging though with several notable holes. The fairways are undulating on both and water hazards come into play on several holes. Coyote Lakes Golf Club's signature hole is the 14th, a par-3 hole that requires a shot from an elevated tee to a green that is well protected by two sand bunkers and a lake to the left.

Playing in the Trees 🌲

For a desert dweller, this is a nice change. The elevation is cooler and there are plenty of tall pine trees to line the fairways. All of the fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens were very fast and tricky to read; they were receptive, however, so if you came in with enough loft they would hold. Enjoyed the round.

Plays Long After Overseed

The course is in great shape after overseeding. Cart path restrictions are lifted so you can run out onto the fairways to play from your ball. The only issue is the course was ‘soft’ so the ball had no runout. As a result approach shots to the greens were often at greater distances than usual. But still enjoyed the course.

West Valley Golf

One of the best courses I have played at a reasonable price. As good as Legacy, Starfire, and Orange Tree. Good pase of play with ample landing. Enough challenge for all levels of skill. I will make sure to return next time in west Phoenix.

Nice overseed

The overseed came in great. The greens were slow as one would expect, but the fairways, tees, and rough were cut down to an appropriate level and weren’t soaking wet. CPO but finished in a hair under 4 hours for an early round. Keep up the good work, Coyote Lakes.

Fast front, SLOW back

I am not sure if they slipped several groups in front of the group we were following, but we played the back nine in double the time the front took. Course is in great shape, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Fix the clog on the back nine and we will return.

Firm Greens

The course is in decent shape after a long hot summer. Took 3 holes to get used to the firm greens. Skipped through 1 and 2 with the approach. Warm day following first real rain in the Valley. A few issues with mowed grass piles, but have to expect that mid-week. Relaxing place to play golf.

Course locals ruin experience

Beautiful golf course! We enjoyed playing the first nine holes at this golf course. However, on the second nine we noticed that the people behind us were extremely good golfers and asked if they wanted to play through since 2 of us are new to golf. The threesome in front of us had been slow the entire time but we thought this would give us some extra time, so we asked the group behind us if they wanted to play through. They said yes and it was not until we waited for them to tee off that they informed us they were with 5 groups behind them playing the same way. In the end we waited for them to tee off at holes because they were waiting for the group in front of them. If they had stated right away, they were with a large group we would have continued to play. When we were finished and in the clubhouse the group behind us made negative remarks about how they played through and made that group have to watch us play. Everyone in the clubhouse knew these people. In the future if "locals" are playing their own mini tournament please let the people playing before them know. It really ruins the entire day playing behind rude golfers
