Located in the west valley, the golf course at Coyote Lakes Golf Club combines a desert landscape and traditional design with scenic views of the White Tank and Bradshaw Mountains. Although it is modest in length and suitable for all players, the course is still an enjoyable challenge for even advanced golfers. The front nine is more difficult than the back nine with large greens and several contours. The back nine is also challenging though with several notable holes. The fairways are undulating on both and water hazards come into play on several holes. Coyote Lakes Golf Club's signature hole is the 14th, a par-3 hole that requires a shot from an elevated tee to a green that is well protected by two sand bunkers and a lake to the left.

Short but surprisingly challenging

Challenging but beautiful course with many undulating fairways and greens and several well placed bunkers and hazards throughout. Some very interesting and well laid out holes. Hit them straight or you end up in the surrounding desert. Back 9 is more forgiving than the front 9. Very friendly and extremly helpful staff. The driving range is very small with only limited flight golf balls available for use.

Definitely recommend it.

Another great day on the course!

We are Canadian Snowbirds and enjoy playing a variety of public courses in the Valley. At this price point there are plenty to choose from, but our favourite by far is Coyote Lakes. It is an interesting and fun course, always in good shape. Pace is usually pretty good, gps on the newer carts is a nice touch. Staff is welcoming and friendly, from the bag drop to the pro shop to the restaurant, which makes the whole experience so much better than other courses we’ve played. Kudos to Coyote Lakes for always providing a great customer experience.

Off Overseed

The overseed took reasonably well, though there did seem to be tee boxes that were being re-seeded to get a better fill. The course played more to its normal state as the grass has now been established and mowed to its usual length. Greens were not fast at all which is nice once in a while.

Playing in the Trees 🌲

For a desert dweller, this is a nice change. The elevation is cooler and there are plenty of tall pine trees to line the fairways. All of the fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens were very fast and tricky to read; they were receptive, however, so if you came in with enough loft they would hold. Enjoyed the round.

Plays Long After Overseed

The course is in great shape after overseeding. Cart path restrictions are lifted so you can run out onto the fairways to play from your ball. The only issue is the course was ‘soft’ so the ball had no runout. As a result approach shots to the greens were often at greater distances than usual. But still enjoyed the course.

West Valley Golf

One of the best courses I have played at a reasonable price. As good as Legacy, Starfire, and Orange Tree. Good pase of play with ample landing. Enough challenge for all levels of skill. I will make sure to return next time in west Phoenix.
