Western Skies Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Western Skies Golf Club has a traditional layout with many different challenges and beautiful views. Surrounded by picturesque mountains and valleys, the course offers a taste of the countryside, which is further enhanced by the many aged Mesquite and Pinon trees sprinkled throughout. It features tree-lined fairways with generous landing areas and tricky water hazards. Two notable holes are the 4th and 7th holes, both par 3s. Although it is a modest 186 yards, the 4th hole requires a carry over water to a heavily bunkered green. Western Skies Golf Club's 18th hole is a drivable par four with water along the right side, making this an exciting finishing hole.

Western Skies 18 holes
It was a fun course, not difficult, although I played it as if it was. Can't blame them though.
The only negative I have is that you could hear the loud music from the bar area all around the practic we greens, the driving range, 10th tee box and 9th green. I'm not a music while I golf guy, I seem to be getting into the minority on that. I enjoyed the music after I was done playing and having a beverage at the same bar though. It was rockin'!
Really enjoyed my round here. Paired up with three folks and we all kept pace with the group up front with the only serious wait happening on 18. The weather took a big turn for the worse and made playing the hole very difficult. My one critique is that there was no marshal to help with pace of play, but that had little effect on the day. Will definitely play again.
Not interesting
This course was way overpriced but do understand that your paying more for the time of year rather than the course itself. The course was not a very interesting course but it did include GPS which was a plus.
Very nice course to play in the area. I have played this course on other visits to the area and will play it again.
Great Course, Fantastic Staff!
Western Skies is a forgiving course with wide fairways, big greens, and short par 4's. It is always in perfect shape. The staff there always treat everyone like royalty, including Mike, Kyle, Annika, Austin, Matt, Donald, Jim and all the rest. Richard R.

Great morning
Course was in great shape. Only took 3 hours for 18. Staff is always professional and helpful. And I played well!!
Fast play
4 some teed off at 10:30 on a Sinday 3 hrs. 40 min. round.
Course was in good condition. Staff was great.
Ok course
I have played here several times now over the past 5 years. The course conditions are always about the same, and I would say average. The most disappointing thing is the way the prices are going up. I paid $80 and that was a Hot Deal rate. I would like to see a course like this around $65-$75 as the standard rate. I would also say that the music played around the clubhouse is a bit much. We could hear it from out on the 8th tee box. I'm sure the neighbors don't appreciate that.
Good shape, fair price.
Western Skies is a decent course that I have played over the years. It had a spell of a few years where it dropped into a bit of a funk (dry, poor fairways etc.), but it has come back nicely in the past 4 or 5 years. This isn't some plush Scottsdale resort, but it is a nice little track that has some fun holes. Course was in good shape, faiways, greens and teeboxes were good. The rough was cut close and it was dry, so it was easy to play from too. Staff has always been friendly and upbeat. No stuffiness, just play and have fun!
