Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

First time back in a while
Much better conditions than last time I played here MANY years ago. Course in much better shape than expected. Will revisit if the rates are competitive.
Really like this place
Playing partner remarked how good of shape the course is in and it is. Service is excellent.
Sunday Golf
Came out with my Fiancé and her little brother and father. My fiancé is new to golf and really enjoyed this course. She loved the tough fairways and the different strategies you have to use to play a course like this. Overall the only thing I was upset about, which is not a big deal is the club house wasn’t serving any food besides candy bars etc. overall this is my new Sunday spot.
This course was okay
Carts were not available when we arrived so we started late. The first 3 holes took us about an hour and a half because the course was so backed up. At some of the tee boxes the ground was so hard we were unable to get our tees in the ground. The course and facility is nice overall.
Great for the price
Starter was a bit moody, young lady at the in the clubhouse was nice and so was the young man in the restaurant area. Great layout and good pace!
Nice to get out and pkay
Overall for this time of season, the course is in good condition the greens were fairly fast.
There were some areas of the course that were under repair, but proved to be minimal while traversing the course.
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
BRUTALLY SLOW PLAY
Great for kids and beginners (lots of them were out there). We were backed up at least 3-4 carts deep on every tee box. No marshall speeding anyone up. No beverage cart so we couldn’t even get some beers while we waited. Almost a 5 hour round on a fairly easy links style course. If only there was a way to give zero stars for pace of play…
Worse course in the East Valley
Hands down no question the worst course I’ve ever played in AZ. Pace of play was terrible. Several groups waiting. Greens were not in shape at all. I understand it’s the summer time but it looks like this course has no grounds crew. You couldn’t pay me to golf this course again….
terrible experience
Play somewhere else and save your money. I’ve never been harassed by staff until playing this course.
Greens are in rough shape
I like this course but most of the greens need to be completely redone.
