The Prospector Course is one of two courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and his two sons, Jack II and Gary, at the Superstition Mountain Club. The second golf course was aptly named the Lost Gold Course to complement the original Prospector Course; both have a risk-and-reward style layout that is a Nicklaus trademark. The Prospector Course has very fast greens and wide open fairways. Water hazards as well as strategically placed bunkers, come into play throughout. The Prospector's signature hole is the par-5 18th, which features a slight dogleg left with a lake bordering the left of the fairway.
