Located in the desert just north of Phoenix and Scottsdale, the golf course at Quintero Golf Club is a challenge but with up to as many as nine tees per hole, it can accommodate golfers of all different abilities and handicaps. The rolling, desert terrain of the course features dramatic elevation changes for interesting play. The golf course's design has wide fairways and plenty of water hazards and sand bunkers. The most difficult hole is the par-5 8th hole, which plays uphill with three large bunkers alongside the right side of the lay-up area. Another difficult but noteworthy hole is Quintero Golf Club's third, which has a scenic lake to the left that sometimes tricks golfers into playing close to it with their tee shot for an easier second shot to the green.

Total Disappointment

No disclosure for course maintenance- club pro Mark couldnt care less. Assistant pro was more laughable.
5/9 tee boxes on front nine under repair. All others from back 2 tees had no markers- was told, "just go hit from there if you want to, we don't put markers on back 2 tees to deter people from playing from the back for pace of play reasons" meanwhile after a 5 hour round from mid tees. Used driver on 2 holes- basically teed off with a 4-5 iron on everyhole. If you are a decent golfer this course is not worth your time. Totally disappointment and Management staff. Ohh greens airrated and heavily sanded- no disclosure. Dumbfounded. Discussed frustrations last comment was to, "not come back!" Stating the obvious to get his last word in,

Decent but overrated

Tough review to write...beautiful course don't get me wrong. Fairly difficult. Several holes feel like the same though. In decent shape for early Arizona summer but not worth over 100 bucks to play. I'd play it in the summer for less than 50 but nothing more. I'm sure it's a great course in the winter but still overpriced. No drinks allowed at all. Wasn't even allowed to bring personal drink filled with tea. Stood at the grill for 5 minutes and never got helped. Out on the course the first cart girl automatically added 20% tip on 2 $10 dollar beers where the 2nd cart girl it was 8 bucks a beer (exact same thing as first round) and asked if I'd like to tip so that part really soured the round. On top of the first cart girl acting like it was an inconvenience and went right back to being in her phone blaring random videos and smoking a vape pen as we were trying to tee off.

Punched greens

The punched greens have not had time to heal yet. While the course layout is fun and challenging the punched greens lessens the experience. Charging full price in the heat with punched greens is not worth playing here. Pace of play was a 5 hour round. Now it is definitely not worth the price of admission. Sorry, but I'm going to have to give a hard pass on this one until the greens improve or the price drops.

CADDIE LOST MY GOLF BAG!

Flew out from Vegas with some friend to celebrate my birthday and visit this course. Play a whole round with no problems. However. upon the end if our round, we were told to wait inside the county club for our Ubers and that the caddies took care of our golf bags up front. Once our Uber arrived, the staff made it aware that they lost/missing my entire golf bag with personal items in it! WHO LOSES A GOLF BAG???? They took my information down and told me they would call me whenever they found out what happend....Never got a call/email. I flew home that next day and had to call them everyday after until they finally returned my call just to tell me they have no idea what happen to my clubs. No security footage, nothing. The way this situation was handled was terrible. They refuse to reimburse me for clubs even though they were the ones who misplaced them, not me. They won't return any of my calls. This happened two weeks ago from today and I still cant get a straight answer. I'll never come back. This was a very upsetting experience.

PACE: Well, good. We may have been the slow group, but when a course is this hard, I think we all become the slow group. It was a 4hr 20min round.

CONDITIONS: Greens were aerated, but the course went out of their way to make that known. I received 2 e-mails from Quintero letting me know of the aerification, and contact information if I wanted to cancel. So I'm not going to judge them on their greens.
Several of the tee boxes showed crowning, so not good there. The fairways and bunkers were in good shape. Impressed by how green it all was given the heat/time of year.

STAFF: Okay, I guess. The desk took my money then said my cart would be outside. Never informed me that you have a 10 minute golf cart ride to the first tee. By the way, you have a 10 minute golf cart ride thru the mountains to the practice range/first tee. Show up well early to your tee time. After the round I felt mobbed by the cart attendants, and attribute their rushed activity to me losing a ball-marker and nearly losing my cell phone. Maybe ask if the golfer would like/is ready for service rather than just shoving us out the door.

VALUE: Payed the aeration special ($65). Not sure what full price is, but I would suggesting playing this as a "once in a lifetime" experience.

LAYOUT: The course winds thru mountains/a canyon. It's spectacular. The views and surrounds are unbelievable. The tee shot on 6, the second shot on 8, the view for the second shot on 10... keep the camera on your phone turned on.
In terms of playability, this course is tough... in the not fun kind of way. You'll lose a dozen balls, easy. Had a shot land in the fairway, bounce right, and then roll thru the rough and into the desert. Not fun. All the greens are elevated so nothing rolls up. The course does start to lose some of its grandeur after you've watched your 8th ball roll off into the desert or up against the high wall of a bunker 175 yards from the green.

I played it once, and was impressed with how they put a golf course inside a small range of mountains. But there are a lot other courses I would go back to before this one.

Quintero - Always a Good Time. Punched Greens Took a Little Fun Away

Great course. Reduced price for the greens but still some work needed. Also, multiple tee boxes felt slanted on your feet/stance.

All hype

Weird course design. They lean heavily on the elevated par 3’s. Really not sure how this is a top 100 track. Front 9 is just ok, back 9 leaves a lot to desire. The closing holes 17 and 18 are very boring. Then a 10 min cart ride back to the pro shop really just leaves you thinking “why did this cost $200?” On the other hand, everyone at the course was so friendly. Starter was great, folks in the pro shop were great, cart guys had popsicles for us after the round. Great food too. The turkey club was killer!
