Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort receives distinctions: Golf Digest placed it among the top 450 U.S. public courses, and it regularly features among Arizona's best 25 golf course. It doesn't hurt that the golf club regularly hosts eye-catching affairs like the Harmon Killebrew Invitational, the Royce Clayton Charity Classic and the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The golf course itself offers lush greens that entwine with the Sonora Desert's terrain, which the golf club says it carefully preserves, and features 18 holes of championship golf in tandem with magnificent scenery and plenty of challenges.

There's a fairly good chance that golfers will catch sight of a quail or coyote out on the Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and management asks that layers give the critters the right of way. In order to ensure golfers' shots go straight and don't snag in a cactus or chuckwalla, the club offers both individual and group glf lessons. This is also a place to enroll in the Hilton Golf Academy.

That's before the round at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, though: Afterward, mosey on back to the 19th hole, called the Pointe In Tyme, for the drinkables and eatables.

Really fun course but

For the price the bunker sand should be way better than it is. Otherwise this is a really cool course. Numerous fun elevated tee shots.

Unhappy

Like lookout a lot and it was in great shape. Would give it a much higher rating but for the painfully slow pace. Was told by the group 2 ahead that an earlier 2 groups had joined and were playing as an 8some but the marshall did nothing. Instead he parked by the 10th tee just to tell us the play was slow.DUH

Beautiful Day and Beautiful Course

Not too long, but plenty of scenic views, and challenging shots. The staff was very helpful. It is quite a distance from the golf shop to the 1st tee, (600 yards), and quite a climb from one tee to the next, so walking wouldn't have been a reasonable idea for us, but the golf course was wonderful.

Very Nice

It's a little confusing when you first arrive trying to find the golf shop, but after you do everything is very nice. Course has A lit of elevation changes which makes it challenging. If playing from the forward tees you miss all the long over desert shots which was perfect for me. Pace of play was perfect would have thought we were the only people on the course. Definitely will try to go back.

Setting and layout fantastic

Our foursome ranged in ability from beginner to golfers. We all enjoyed ourselves. Perfect weather in high 70’s. Twilight golf worked perfectly for us. Great value on a “hot deal”. Sun set just before 6 but still good value even if we didn’t finish.

The track was in good condition, but it was too "hilly" for my tastes. Greens were great.

I will play again

I play a lot of different courses every year. The prices I pay vary from $40 to $600, but the thing they all have in common is I believe they will be in good playing condition.

The greens were in good shape, and the fairways were in great shape. The tee boxes were mediocre. The layout is very nice.

The staff were excellent.  It is a good value by Phoenix Resort course standards.

I practice there for $25 a day. They have us hitting on artificial turf right now. There is a nice chipping area and a large putting green.

I enjoyed playing Lookout Mountain, and I will go back and play it again.
