Great Eagle Golf Club
About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Way better
The staff has definitely worked hard on this course. It’s much better than it’s played in the past
Great Eagle Again
The course was in good condition. Since it had just rained the fairways were pretty damp with not a lot of roll. The greens we probably in the best condition I have seen them for a few years.
Enjoyable round
We really enjoyed our round - played in about 3 and 1/2 hours.. course in good shape.
The Great Esgle
Good course ,nice terrane good challenge, fun course play and tell me I'm wrong!!!
Bad Bunkers
The bunkers did not have sand. Mostly mud and gravel.
Great Eagle
Course was in great condition. There were a couple of holes that had some damage, but the hole was cut so that the damage didn’t affect anything. The staff were very friendly and the refreshment cart was available at the exact time we started looking for it. I was concerned going in to playing due the the reviews I had read, but I found none of what was referenced in the reviews were wholly inaccurate.
Fun and Challenging but needs a lot of work
I really enjoyed the layout. Rolling fairways, challenging sand and grass bunkers, nice elevation changes, dog legs.. this course has it all. Used every club in the bag. However its in disrepair. The fairways were acceptable but there were unfilled divots everywhere. The greens were not in very good condition and were more like yellows. Played as a Hot Deal and not sure I would ever pay full price to play here. The course is even worse in summer, but I have to say it was much improved compared to summer conditions. It’s a shame because it was a fun round and this course could be so much more with the proper attention. Afternoon weekday pace was a little over 4 hrs.
There were numerous patches of bare ground on many holes. There were no sand bottles for repairing divots and there were no ball washers on the course.
Excellent pace on a very good course
Played at 11:32. At the start it appeared that it might be a slow day. The friendly starter assured us that the pace of play was good - around 4 hours per round. The fairways were in good shape. A couple of greens were spotty. Golf cart trails very rough in place.
Not a good course for the money could have played a
Lot better courses for &60. Won’t be back
Concrete Traps
The course itself was in great shape due to a recent over-seeding. My only complaint is the sand traps are more like concrete traps. No sand, HARD dirt.
one of my favorites
always enjoy the undulating greens, approach shots are key, fairways coming along nicely.
don't get fooled for lack of cart pats, just enjoy the challenge
