Some consider the Estates course (formerly known as Adobe golf course) at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club to be grand and stately, a prime example of golf course design in the pre-modern era, combining rare beauty with solid trickery. It makes for a round both relaxing and challenging played on lush 50-year-old fairways, with a spacious layout, reminding on of golf as it ought to be played: the glory days when graphite went into pencils and balls were only white.

The Adobe golf course at the Arizona Golf Club measures 6,430 yards from the white tees and comes in at par-71.

Due to the mild Arizona winters, the Adobe Golf Course at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is open year-round.

Perfect conditions on an easy course.

I booked this course as it was close to where I was staying and it had some favorable times while I was in the area for a separate event.

Layout is similar to a muni with holes weaving back and forth without the desert/unplayable areas or homes between the holes as seen in most modern desert courses. There is almost no way to get yourself in real trouble and my score (par) reflected the 115 slope and perfect conditions of the course including fairways and greens.

The facility was undergoing a complete renovation and I think it will be amazing when it is opened. Staff was great and attentive, even when I showed up the day before just to hit balls at the practice area.

Overall, the course itself is unremarkable except for the hotel-sized homes around the boundaries of the golf course and what looks like an incredible new clubhouse.

Convenient to Scottsdale and the Valley

Had a very good time. The course was not difficult but interesting with some challenge. Greens were bumpy and a little inconsistent. Sand was more fluffy than normal and needs more rakes. The course doesn’t take the driver out of your hands.
Clubhouse being rebuilt but so what.
Met some nice guys in the group I joined as a single.
It’s convenient to the Valley and Scottsdale.
Eat and drink at the Biltmore. You will love it.

What a mess!

Course was in poor condition. Staff did not give clear instructions. If you want to play a course with poor signage and limited instruction on where to go, this course is for you. Also while green it was in poor condition.

Not worth the money

Disappointed to say the least. Course layout is awful. Too easy to get greens mixed up. Playing across other holes. No signage. People hitting at you from other fairways. Not worth the winter premium price. If you can get a hot deal it’s not a bad time but for $170 it’s not worth the price. Much better golf around for relatively same price around Scottsdale. Course is crammed in too small of an area. Greens have holes and rough patches. For the money you would expect much better. Construction everywhere. Tiny little halfway house right in the middle of a construction zone. Just too much to complain about for that price.

It beats working

My first time playing the estate course. I found it to be solidly mediocre. The staff was very friendly. The facilities which are in renovation will be nice. It was a remake of the old course which sat in front of the clubhouse. It’s a straightforward series of holes that are out and back out and back from the clubhouse.

There are so many more exciting courses in the Phoenix area. I probably won’t return to this one. The other course at the Biltmore is more fun.

Disappointed

The Estates course is not ready for prime time and certainly not for $150!
The staff was friendly but offered excuses for the conditions.
The range is soft and chewed up.
Many brown spots on the course for this time of year.
The greens are horrible, mottled, lumpy and slow.
I was told they just got overseeded . Not accurate excuse as I know the difference as I had a career in golf clubs.
The course was also cart path only which wasn’t told to us ahead of time.
Do not open until you are in better condition!
GPS didn’t work and Garmin watch did not have updated info.
Hard to see and navigate.
